Back to (Personal) Blogging

I used to write a design blog called The Sunshine Lady for a few years before I became a mom, and it was incredibly gratifying. I combined my love for writing and design to obsess over and share our home renovation, spaces and products that inspire me, and learn through my research about all the amazingly interesting people in the world who share their well curated lives online. I miss it. So Iโ€™m going to get back to that in one way or another soon.

I also vowed to start a 52 week blog post where I share whatโ€™s going on in my own life. I abandoned that pretty soon after my 1-year-old was born because quite frankly, I was over stretched and exhausted. That also is going to change!

So, I thought Iโ€™d share a few cute pics of my kiddos getting our Christmas tree at a local nursery (I know, it wouldโ€™ve been way cooler and more picturesque to cut down our tree at a farm, but I have photo sessions almost every weekend evening and thereโ€™s just not enough time!). I loved the โ€œCharlie Brownโ€ type trees but wasnโ€™t willing to cough up $100 for one (apparently thereโ€™s a Christmas tree shortage this year, thus the high prices). Instead, we got a pretty โ€œnormalโ€ tree, and I oohed and ahhhed at the beautiful greenhouses, which Dustin has agreed to build for me one day. Iโ€™m going to hold him to it.

Iโ€™m the worst at making holidays super exciting and fun, so Iโ€™m open and hoping for some suggestions on how to make the holidays more special for kids without spending money on a lot of junk. ;)

What are your traditions?
